Pre-centenary celebrations of Sabha at Udalguri

The Udalguti Sahitya Sabha,a Wing of the Assam Sagittarius Sabbath is going to celebrate the pre-centenary programme of the premier literary organisation here at the Sahitya Sabha Bhawan with a two day literary and cultural programme on December 26 and 27 next. This was stated to the press by Anju Goswami Kalita ,acting general Secretary of the literary organisation today.

According to the agenda a tribute programme would be arranged in memory of founder president Padmanath Gohain Baruah and all other leading former office bearers of the literary organisations followed by 'Akash' - a literary discourse where local women poets would recite their self composed poems.

On December 27 the foundation day of Assam Sahitya Sabha would be initiated with flag hoisting by Gautumjyoti Talukdar president of Udalguri Sahitya Sabha followed by the chorus O Mor Apunar Desh and hoisting of 98 ASS flags by social organisations,students and cultural organisations, distinguished citizens of the region. A drawing competition titled 'Kunhi' will also be organized for the school children which would be accompanied by quiz competition among the youths.The pre centenary celebration will conclude with an open session.

Udalguri:  A court in Udalguri has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Sahid Jamal in Kalaigaon. District and Sessions Judge N. Udalguri: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam saw a significant turnout, with 72.99% of eligible voters casting their ballots across the Darrang-Udalguri Parliamentary Constituency.
