ST status for 6 communities before poll

As assembly polls are round the corner days are not far for six ethnic communities in Assam to get ST status.

Union minister for tribal affairs Juel Ornam told a delegation of Koch Rajbanshi in New Delhi on Tuesday that the process was on to accord the status to Ahom, Koch, Muttocks, Moran and Adivasi communities.

He said that these communities will get ST status before the Assembly polls.
