Preparations are on foot to host the 21st senior women's national football championship-2015-16  for North East zone to be started from December 18 here at Kokrajhar district sports association (KDSA) ground in Kokrajhar.


Ankur Dutta, secretary of the Assam Football Association while addressing the reporters today KDSA office told that all kinds of preparations to host the national event has got under way. There are six teams from the northeatern states like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are participating.The participant teams would play in league manner and two team would be forwarded to participate in the national event which will cover up across the country, he said. 


The national zonal meet would be completed on December 23 in Kokrajhar and expected the championship will create sports amusement among publics, he said


Dutta has also declared Assam squad for the event to represent Assam state senior women football comprising 20 players and two officials . The squad included Anjana Saikia (Jorhat), Sushma Kachap (Baksa-Goal keeper), Sewali Moran (Dibrugarh), Bhabani Kumar (Rangia), Sabina Kispota(Kokrajhar), Barnali Moran (Dibrugarh), Mina Basumatary (Kokrajhar), Minuswarang Brahma (Kokrajhar), Rima Boro (Baksa), Sonia Marak (Karbi Anglong), Namoni Karmakar (Dibrugarh),Pronati Basumatary (Kokrajhar), Ringkhangsri Boro (Rangia), Minali Borah (Jorhat), Kabita Wary (Kokrajhar), Maya Ramchiary (Kokrajhar), Sanila Basumatary (Baksa), Ranjumoni Brahma (Kokrajhar), Mridula Mech (Dibrugarh), Dorothi Oreya (Dibrugarh); Gita Ramoni as team manager and Pranab Basumatary as coach respectively.
