Rahul drops bombshell: Confirms Gogoi allegation

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi dropped a huge bombshell against RSS on Monday revealing that the religious group attached to BJP prevented him from visiting a historic Vaishnavite place in Assam.

Talking to reporters on way to the Parliament Bhawan, Gandhi said RSS deployed some women to stopped from visiting the Barpeta Satra after I wrapped up my padyatra.

"This is how BJP and RSS operate. It shows the real mentality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," said the top Congress leader who was on a recent visit to the poll bound Assam.

Rahul broke the ice a day after Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi brought the same allegation against BJP and RSS triggering tacit anger among the people of the entire area.

A section of the Vaishnavs have condemned Gogoi for alleging the presence of RSS activists inside the monastery.

NEW DELHI:In an effort to quell any law and order problem ahead of the publication of final draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) the state government on Wednesday has sought more central paramilitary forces from the Home Ministry. “We have sought for more central paramilitary forces. NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday extended by a months its 30 June deadline for the publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft. The bench gave the extension after the Centre and the state NRC coordinator agreed to publish it within the new 30 July deadline. A bench of justices Ranjan Gogoi and RF Nariman considered the report of Assam NRC coordinator Prateek Hajela and extended the deadline. NEW DELHI: BJP central leadership is understood to have cleared the decks for the Assam cabinet expansion at the end of an hour long meeting between Amit Shah and Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi on Friday.  Senior party leaders who refused to be named told Assam Times that Shah and Sonowal finalized the induction of eight new members in the expended cabinet where three sitting ministers would be dropped.  Of the ten new faces AGP and BPF have one each while others are BJP legislators who are expected to take oath in a day or two.  Chief minister Sonowal, however, avoided the media persons, who were waiting outside the official residence if the BJP president.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme court has asked the Assam Government to file an affidavit on the bail petition moved by Rakesh Paul whom police arrested in a new case after he procured bail from the earlier cases.  A division bench of the top court comprising Justice Adarsh Goyal and Justice UULalit who heard the arrested APSC chairman’s bail plea directed the government to file an affidavit to hear it again in the first week of January.
