Assam, Tripura bandh on Dec 16

The National Federation for New States has called 12 hours Assam & Tripura bandh on December 16 beginning from 5 AM to 5 PM, supported by the state demand group- ABSU, JACAS, ADSU, NDFB(P) & PJACBM. 

The organizations are sticking to the bandh called to the demand for Bodoland, Karbi State, Dimaraji and Tipraland to be new states for new India. However, in the ensuing bandh the essential and emergency services, people moving for special occasions such as marriage, religious festivals, pilgrimage. The essential services like milk supply, water supply, ambulances, pharmacy and students moving for examinations will be exempted from the purview of bandh. The ABSU so appeals the supporters of the bandh to be mean with the conditions mentioned, Lawrence Islary, General Secretary of the ABSU informed.
