Satyen Sarma new Zonal Chairmen of Indian Mountaineering Foundation

Satyen Sarma became the Zonal Chairmen of Indian Mountaineering Foundation. Satyen Sarma, President of Assam Mountaineering Association and a veteran mountaineer became the the Chairman of North East Zone on 10th November 2015. Started his career as amountaineer with Assam Mountaineering Association and successfully completed Basic and Advance Mountaineering Courses from WHMI, Manali in 1981 and1983. After completing courses inmountaineering he participated four major Himalayan peak climbing expeditionnamely Mt Choukhamba- 7138, Gangotri 1- 6672m, Bhagirathi 6859 m& Mulkilla -1 beside many trekking. Sarma took the charges ofPresident of Assam Mountaineering Association on 2nd September 2013till now. In his tenure the association organised many major venture whichinclude an expedition to Mt.Everest 8850 m. For his bold leadership the adventurism in Assamdeveloping at a very rapid speed.
