Jumbos ransack walls at Tangla

A herd of 4 to 5 wild elephants damaged railway quarter walls and created a havoc in the entire  Pujakhola Tiniali area in  Tangla on Saturdy at about 1.55 am. The elephants also damaged sugarcane crops in nearby area. No loss of life have been reported.

The SSB jawans of 61 battalion nabbed six persons with 340 kg ganja (cannabis) and 251 bottles of liquor from the Arunachal- Assam border jungle area on Sunday. They have also seized a Wagon R car (AS-27, 6492) when they found the 251 bottles of liquor being taken illegally. Ransai Daimari (19) and Topeswar Kisan (35) of Pathakpur, Majbat were nabbed from the forest areas of Dhansiri Tea Estate with 230 kg ganja. The 3rd Prize Money Open Badminton Championship (Mens Doubles) was organised on Feb 5 & Feb 6 by Tangla Badminton Association at the Association's playground behind the BSNL office premises.There were participants from Rangia, Rowta, Guwahati Dhemaji, Alipurduar (West Bengal). The Udalguri district committee of All Bathou Mahasabha is going to celebrate its four-day silver jubilee programme at Sonaisri Fwthar at Harisinga in Udalguri district from February 6 with ‘reform, confirm and prosper’ as its main theme.
