Timber smugglers arrested

Forest department and security personnel  apprehend three timber smugglers and recovered Sal timbers on Tuesday morning in a joint operation conducted inside Jharbari and Ultapani range under Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar. 

Acting on a tiptop information about timber smugglers, forest department, security personnel from Assam Police, SSB, CRPF, Black Commando and Army conducted a joint operation since late last night and managed to arrest three timber smugglers, besides recovery of  over 50 pieces of Sal logs from the Haltugaon reserve forest.

They were identified as Khwnasad Basumatary, Annai Brahma and Dilip Basumatary.
