Alcheriga 2016 from January 28

The twentieth edition of Alcheringa, the cultural fest of IIT Guwahati will be held on January 28-31, 2016 at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. It is one of the largest fests of South Asia and throughout its 20 year existence it has served as a great platform for the youth to showcase their talents.

It has played host to international artists like Michel Angelo Batio, Ne Obliviscaris, Eluveitie along with top Bollywood artists like Sonu Nigam, classical maestro Anoushka Shankar, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt , Shankar Ehsaan Loy to name a few. With a footfall of about 70,000 it is the largest fest in the north east and as its tagline suggests, it is an ‘eternal dreamtime’ for all the participants and the visitors and in its 20th year promises to be bigger and better.

It also conducts a plethora of workshops and competitions boasting of 8 modules and 70 competitions featuring some of the most high profile competitions in India like Haute Couture, Electric Heels and one of India’s premier Rock Band competitions Rock-o-phonix.
