Durga Mandir foundation stone laid

Foundation stone for re-construction of Durga Mandir at Kokrajhar Main Bazar Durgabari was laid by formet Minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma on Friday. The Main Bazar Durga Mandir has been regarded one of the oldest Durga Puja mandhav with record of 145-years-old in Lower Assam districts,was established in 1870 and organised 145th Durga Puja recently. The mandir would be constructed at an amounting of 2 crores under donation pattern from devotees, well wishers and donors which would be completed by next three years.

Brahma, in her speech wished a healthy construction and urged the devotees to involved closely to meet early implementation.

Utpal Dutta, president of the Durga Mandir Management Committee told that the mandir would be constructed  under a donation pattern and its work has started from today.He said that BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has already donated 5 lakhs to the construction and extended his best wishing.

Amarendra Chakraborty,Shanti Paul,senior citizens,Sujit Guha,secretary,Subash Dutta,assistant secretary of the committee were prominent attendies among others on the day.
