Children's day in Tangla

Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way. The students under the guidance of Principal of the academy Napolean Daimari distributed food packets among the patients of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Hospital, Tangla. Hospital authorities thanked the initiative of the students. Arunodoi Academy has been taking charitable works in the area for the last several years in the interest of society. The school students also donated used clothes and cash in the charity fund.

One dies of electrocution in Tangla

The electricity negligence has taken thr life of yet another person triggering anger and protest across the state on Tuesday. The incident took place at Samokuchi village in Tangla where the victim was treading near his paddy field.  He was electrocuted as he landed at the plot in the afternoon where a 440 kv wire which was lying unattended He was rushed to Tangla CHC were he was declared brought dead.  Talking to media persons D. Organ donation awareness camp help

In a bid to bring about awareness on organ donation among the younger generation, a local NGO 'Rising Hands' in collaboration with Zublee Foundation organized an awareness programme on cadaver organ donation at Tangla on Friday. Youth held for extortion charge

 The  Udalguri police held a youth on Wednesday for allegedly trying to extort money from a doctor. Identified as Dipankar Bora allegedly money from Udalguri Civil Hospital physician Dr. Bhagirath Dey who lodged a complaint with the police. They allegedly demanded money along with his accomplice Gusafang Basumatari in the name of a banned militant outfit. They threatened to kidnap his son for not paying Rs. 2,20,00. Acting on the allegation, police picked up Dipankar to be arrested after interrogation.

National Nutrition Week observed in Orang

3 minors held for hostel murder

The Udalguri police probing the sensational Sidon Basumatary murder case in 2016 arrested three hostel boys in this connection.  The trio were alleged to have killed the student before keeping the body hanging inside the hostel campus. One of the accused confessed to have done the entire cold blooded murder.
