Children's day in Tangla

Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way. The students under the guidance of Principal of the academy Napolean Daimari distributed food packets among the patients of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Hospital, Tangla. Hospital authorities thanked the initiative of the students. Arunodoi Academy has been taking charitable works in the area for the last several years in the interest of society. The school students also donated used clothes and cash in the charity fund.

Traffickers nabbed, minor rescued in Tangla

Security forces in Tangla busted a human trafficking racket as they caught three people on Wednesday.  Acting on a tip off troops of 37 Bn SSB Mangaldai deployed a group of jawans at BOP in Nonaikhuti along the Indo-Bhutan border village of Udalguri.  With the help of local AASAA activists, the security forces apprehended the three persons who were to leave the place with a minor girl near Tangla railway station on  evening. Cleanliness drive on 'Swacha Bharat Abhiyan'

Acleanliness drive was organized by Mula-Gabharu and Chamuapara-Balipara Jagrata Womens' Village Organisation (VO) at Chamuapara village on the outskirts of Tangla town on Sunday. The drive which started at Chamuapara Wings' Club covered the village including Tangla College road in which nearly 200 women folks including SHG members, VCDC members and prominent women personalities of the locality actively participated. Kathina Cibara Danotsav at Anadhuwa Buddha Vihar

Like every year, the Kathina Cibara Dana was celebrated at Anadhuwa Buddha Vihar Temple near Panery of Udalguri with a two day long programme on Saturday and Sunday. On the first day 8 disciplines were given Diksha(sraman) by followed by Buddha Monk from Duliajam Nandia Bhikku. NDFB(S) cadres nabbed

In a major achievement,Udalguri police and Army in a joint operation nabbed two hardcore NDFB(S) cadres from Mazbat area of Udalguri on Friday. The duo are prime accused in the 2014 Adivasi killings in Sonitpur district. The apprehended have been identified as Jahan Mochshary @ Jiskel Mochsahary (30) and Jourwn Daimari(30) . Jahan is a 35th batch NDFB cadre and reportedly in most wanted list of by National Investigation Agency vide case RC-04/2014/NIA-GUW. The police are interrogating the rebels at Udalguri PS.

Gunotsav Gets Underway in Udalguri

The second phase of Gunotsav got underway in Udalguri district from Tuesday with three day hectic schedule. The Inspector of Schools of Udalguri ,Bhaben Deuri district informing this correspondent said that a total of 1,402 lower primary and upper primary schools and composite schools of the district would go under the external evaluation during the three day programme. The 1992 Tangla HSLC batch from different nearby schools organized a reunion providing an opportunity to the alumnae to walk down memory lane along with linking up with friends at Arunodoi Jr. College on Sunday. Women goes missing at Panery

There seems to be no breakthrough into the woman who has gone missing  from her residence at 1 No. Garuajhar near Panery in Udalguri on Monday. She is said to be Asha Begum, mother of a five year old son child who is still remaining clueless. Police have been investigating it acting on a complaint lodged by her  husband Hasmat Ali. A section of the local residents claimed to have seen her travelling on a white Wagon R vehicle in the locality.

One dies of electrocution

The electricity negligence has taken thr life of yet another person triggering anger and protest across the state on Tuesday. The incident took place at Samokuchi village in Tangla where the victim was treading near his paddy field. He was electrocuted as he landed at the plot in the afternoon where a 440 kv wire which was lying unattended He was rushed to Tangla CHC were he was declared brought dead. Talking to media persons D.
