The District Level Training for updating of NPR database and seeding Aadhar number in NPR database was held here at DC’s Conference Hall on Wednesday. ADCs of Pasighat, Ruksin, Nari and Mebo and administrative officers were present. Joint Director of Census Operations, Bharti Chanda from Shillong imparted the daylong training program.
Chairing the meeting cum training programme, the Deputy Commissioner In-charge Deepak Shinde informed that East Siang District has achieved 90.78% biometric enrollment under active supervision of DSO (Stat) D Naksang. In his keynote address the DC emphasized on the importance of Census activities and extended his appreciation to the Government of India for bringing out this important act and programme. The officers entrusted should sensitize the citizens and provide correct data to bring out genuine and authentic data to make the programme a success. He said that the is an important issue. Registration of population is an important exercise and also equally important to maintain transparency of every citizen. He urged the general public to cooperate with the enumerators who are visiting shortly for updation of NPR database.
Jt. Director Bharti Chanda made a presentation on the importance of NPR and also explained how to fill up the forms in the field. She highlighted on the importance of NPR updation and also informed that field works will be begin from Nov-15 and it should be completed by Dec-15 as per the government notification. She also asked all administrative officers to impart training to all appointed enumerators of their respective circle at the circle level.
In his short speech stated that Aadhar is an essential and it is the basic need for every citizen, and therefore requested all the concerned officers to educate our people in this issue and further wished them all the best in this exercise.

Trees getting uprooted and falling on electrical lines, resulting in hours of power outage is a common phenomenon during monsoon. Normal power supply remains heavily interrupted on the Pasighat-Pangin power line after a huge tree fell on a powerful a electric wire on Monday. Engineers along with departmental staffs have already been pressed into restoration process. It would take two days or more to reconnect the network.
