Jorhat trade fair from Wednesday

Jorhat is gearing up for the international trade fair on Wednesday. Preparations have reached the final stage. Organisers told Assam Times that Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal and Thailand would participate in the event apart from many self-help groups, local entrepreneurs and commercial establishments from the country.

Organized by Poridhi, a non-governmental organisation, the mega business event will take place at the Jorhat District Sports Association’s playground from October 28 to November 15 this year. Organizers hoped that the event would help the state promote ethnic food among the consumers of the country.

Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Bhutan have already confirmed participation in the event with 24 stalls. These are in addition to 150 stalls from the country.
