ONGC Assam Asset facing flak

NGOs in Sivasagar district have come down heavily on ONC’s Assam Asset for improper utilization of the Corporate social responsibility fund. A section of local NGOs moved the higher authority with this complaint seeking their intervention. They blamed a circle senior ONGC officers alleging that they have a slew of hidden interest. They have been favouring a section of unknown organisations and NGOs.

Gas is leaking from ONGC's GGS no. 3 at Gelakey-Athkhel in Sivasagar district which is creating panic in the sorrunding areas. The Freelance journalist association of Nazira has informed ONGC and the Gelakey police station.
The Nazira Civil administration is fully prepared for the ensuing Assambly Election  2016. There are 1,18,794 voters in the constituency with 159 nos. polling stations. For free and fair election at Nazira constituency the Election Commission recruits 4 Divisional officers,16 sector officers and 600 polling officers. Central election observer  R. B. Prajapoti and election expenditure observer Noresh Bundal monitoring the electrol process and progress.
Congress party is gearing up for the upcoming poll in Nazira slated for April 4. Party candidate and sitting MLA Debabrate Saikia met  party workers and asked them to work hard in grassroot level. A party workers meeting was held on Wednesday at Saikia's residence. 
Alleging about the neglect and deprivation faced  by the Ahom community of Nazira constituency the Members of the All Assam Tai Ahom burnt effigies of BJP state president Sarbananda Sonowal and MP  Kamakhya Prashad Tasa in front of the Nazira BJP office.  They raised slogans against the party and held that due to a conspiracy between Sonowal and Tasa the Ahom community of Nazira remains depraved. Despite having the majority number of voters, candidates of Ahom descent never chanced to contest from Nazira constituency they added.

The programme was organised under the "Mukhya mamtrir Sunali Soishab Prakalpa - Surokhayat sishu, surokhayata Axom yojona" by Nazira Mohkuma Mahila Sommittee and the Pragati.
A two-days-long 15th annual conference of the Sivasagar district All Assam Students Union (AASU) was held at Maut Gaon, Simaluguri on on January 4-5. The new executive committee  was formed in this conferance with Samiron Phukon became the general secretary and Ashim Dutta as the new president. Members of Nazira Anchalik AASU Unit walked out from the repeesentatives meetings due to the internal disputes.
