Incentive to brilliant students in BTC

Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were  felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .

BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today. 

Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015, Aithjhya Bhaduri and Priyasa Kundu, both  of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school, Dhaligaon in Chirang and secured 5th and 8th position respectively in the HSLC 2015.

Borgoyary said that the BTC authority was   working to encourage the students to work hard and council will be giving helping hand to brilliant students who are aspired tithe good career in their higher studies. He said 18 students from the Bodoland region who have been selected and got admitted in the IIT and IIM will also be given the incentive for their higher studies. 

Borgoyary also said that BTC authority will give scholarships to 25-30 brilliant students preparing for UPSC examination from the region.

Meghalaya beat Arunachal Pradesh 1-0 in today's match of the 21st senior women national football championship being plated at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.  For Meghalaya, Adarif K scored lone goal against Arunachal Pradesh in 21st minutes of first half. Security forces have claimed to capture a NDFB-S link man from Motambil area under Gossaigaon on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.  Based on a tip top information, security forces belonging to Army, Police and CRPF conducted an operation against the involved link men with militant outfits in the area and managed to arrest a link man.  The arrested was identified as Prabal Narzary alias Bangappa, informer and sympathizer of the militant outfits.  A country made pistol and two live ammunition wax recovered from him. 
Tripura beat Mizoram 3-1 in today’s match of the 21st Senior Women’s National Football Championship (North East Zone) being played  at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) ground here in Kokrajhar. For Tripura Ganga scored two goals in 23 and 43 minutes. Ana Lakshan scored the third goal for Tripura in 19 minutes. For Mizoram, Eden Tharai reduced the margin in 38 minutes. Tomorrow Meghalaya will take Arunachal Pradesh.

Security forces belonging to police and army in a joint operation apprehended a NDFB-S cadre from Takampur area under Kachugaon police station today in Kokrajhar district.  Based on a secret information about the presence of militants, security forces conducted an operation and managed to apprehend a cadre of NDFB-S from Takampur.  The cadre was identified as Nadip Narzary @ Daniel Narzary  of No.1 Takampur.  He was involved with extortion, kidnapping, recruiting of new cadres  and nefarious activities in the area.  A pistol (factory made), two live ammunition and grenade was recovered from him.
