Darjeeling beat Siliguri

UK FC from Darjeeling beat Siliguri FC 2-0 in the B Bwhwithi memorial Gold Cup being played at Jaraguri ground in today's match in Kokrajhar district. Both the team was goal less in the first half. 

For Darjeeling, Goutam Thapa and Gurung scored one each goal 63 minutes and 75 minutes in the second half. Siliguri tried to score goals but failed their attempt and lost to Darjeeling 2-0. 

Meanwhile, an woman football exhibition has been organised at Jaraguri ground on Wednesday where SAI from Kokrajhar will clash on Rongia Woman FC. 

The woman football football will be attracted among sports lovers and expected thousands of spectators from district and its adjoining area as well neighbouring West Bengal are thronging to witnesses the football event.

Shock and anger in Kokrajhar

Utter shock and anger seem to have gripped Kokrajhar a day after three members of a family were killed in the name of witch hunting.The incident took place at Borjhora village in  Monglajhora area under Bogribari police station  where the trio remained clueless.Police have so far arrested 13 persons in this connection after two bodies were exhumed from a jungle.  The entire incident came to light after the victim's youngest son, who is a constable with 7th AP Bn got to the incident . Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning. Woman commits suicide

A woman committed suicide by lying before a moving train in Kokrajhar on Thursday.Identified as Jaya Saki, the 40 year old woman committed suicide on the rail track near the Gauranga bridge in the afternoon.  She is believed to have committed suicide because of domestic affairs hours after her girl eloped with a youth.
