Deep tubewell scheme in Golaghat

Assam PWD minister Ajanta Neog unveiled the deep tube scheme at Jamuguri area of Golaghat district on Wednesday. The scheme was launched under the implementation scheme of irrigation department. This scheme will cover about 30 hector agricultural land of Jamuguri area which the farmer get more benefited from it. 

Providing financial assistance from NABARD of Rs 36 lakhs to implement the schemes. Executive engineer Bijay Kumar Sarma was also present in the function. Later, she attended the review meeting of Gramin Sangha and SHGs under National Rural Livelihood Mission at Jamuguri Bazar Rajohowa Bhawan and she inspected the work of SHGs, Neog assured them to  help for progress in their work.

Vishwa Dharma Chetna Manch and Sri Brahmarishi Ashram Ramapuram Tirupathy is jointly organizing a free yoga and naturopathy health camp at Maheswari Bhawan in Golaghat Sunday. Golaghat boxers are gearing up for the inter district competition slated for Friday and Saturday in Guwahati.Talking to Assam Times, the Golaghat District Sports Association general secretary Sanjib Handique said that the district team comprises Padma Chetri ,Jyotsna Dolley, Fumala Dolley, Janhvi Baruah, Nilotpal Bora, Navjyoti Kalita and Maneshwar Burman .
The Golaghat District Sports Association will organize an inter district swimming competition on November 7 and 8. Talking to Assam Times, the organization’s general secretary Sanjib Handique said that two days event is slated to take place at the local swimming pool in Golaghat. He said that at organizing committee has been formed to host the event.
The Golaghat district administration on Tuesday asked the tea garden managements to clear the bonus to the workers by October 5. Deputy Commissioner Anarul Haque on Tuesday issued the order after a meeting with the various tea group owners. He ordered the owners to discuss the bonus amount with the workers to resolve the issue amicably.

The people in a huge area of Golaghat district on Sunday are all set to revive the real contribution of a forgotten hero whose name is missing in the history because of the conspicuous ignorance of the local historians.A gathering at the Jamuguri Public Hall will assess the sacrifice of Birochan Chutia who was killed by the British rulers at Rongpur when he was the station head to be disobeyed the rulers. The local people will commemorate his sacrifice at the function beside releasing a book Chutia's life and workings.
