NE joins Gandhi Jayanti celebrations

Assam joins the nation in the Gandhi Jayanti celebration on Friday to mark birth anniversary of the mahatma with a day long programme.

Seminar on Gandhian ideology, drawing competition and Bhajan recital are lined up across the state on the occasion. Prominent citizens in Guwahati thronged the Gandhi Mandap in Ulubari area in the morning to pay tribute to the father of the nation on his birth anniversary.

Freedom fighters along with many other parties and various organizations are holding community prayers across the state on the occasion.
