Arunachal guv reviews law and order

Arunachal Pradesh governor JP Rajkhowa on Thursday reviewed law and order in view of the Supreme Court’s recent judgment concerning settlement and grant of citizenship to the Chakma-Hajong refugees of 1964-69 stream.

Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, home minister Tanga Byaling, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi, DGP S. Nithianandan were present in the meeting along with senior officers.

Rajkhowa insisted on effective reporting of cases through filing of FIR with the Police Stations and more focus on prosecution and conviction.

He also stated that any law and order situation, if created by any organization or group of miscreants would have to be dealt with firmly in a non-discriminatory manner.

The governor stressed that there must be no breach of the peace whatsoever and no breakdown of law and order or any kind of economic blockade be allowed as such unlawful activities apart from hurting the common men, will also weaken the stand of the State Government and the indigenous people.

Rajkhowa on 3-day visit to Tawang

Itanagar bandh call deferred to Nov 9

Road sector boost

The Arunachal Pradesh government’s commitment to provide the Capital Complex with cement concrete roads turns into a reality. The construction of CC roads and pavements is being taken up in almost entire colony roads sector roads in the Capital Complex.A total of 22.76kms of CC pavement road was sanctioned during 2014-15 for twin capital cities of Itanagar and Naharlagun of which 2.51kms and 6.63kms were completed in 2014 itself.  All CC pavement works are being executed through tenders.The construction had to be discontinued in April as monsoon approached. Thrust on sports in Tirap

The week-long tribal games and sports in different blocks of Tirap district conducted at Deomali on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion Tirap Deputy Commissioner Ravi Jha appreciated the effort of AVP adding that games & sports would help the youths of the district in utilizing their time gainfully. He said that more games and sports would be conducted in the district to create an environment of sports to generate interest in sports amongst the youths. 

Miscreant attack on MLA house

An Arunachal Pradesh legislator has complained an abortive attempt to end his life by unidentified miscreants in Pasighat. He is none other than Mariyang-Geku MLA Olom Panyang in his FIR alleged that unidentified miscreants severely damaged his temporary house and RCC boundary fencing located at Mone on Friday morning. In his FIR he said, “it is my own land, given by my father-in-law and I have full right to use it my best, stated Panyang while visiting the spot on Saturday afternoon.”  He believed that the miscreants wanted to attack him physically but that was not possible because of his absence.
