Chakma: Tuki govt to file review plea
The Arunachal Pradesh government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court against permanent settlement of Chakmas and Hajongs in the state. The state Cabinet which met on Wednesday decided to move the apex court again expressing concern over the refugee settlement settled in the state.
After a threadbare discussion on the refugee issue in the backdrop of the Supreme Court judgment of September 17 last in presence of the advocate general, the Cabinet gave a go-ahead to opt for legal options to resist any step to grant permanent settlement to the Chakmas and Hajongs in the state.
The Advocate General and legal experts have been directed to pursue the matter immediately with the apex court. The Cabinet further resolved to appeal to the Centre to support to the cause of the state.

The capital authority is fully prepared to foil the 12 hour Itanagar bandh salted for Monday. In an order issued on Saturday, the deputy commissioner cum district magistrate Mige Kamki has called the All Nyishi Youth Association-sponsored bandh unlawful asking the organization to call off it. The authority has directed all offices and banks, schools and colleges, shops and markets to ensure normal functionings in the entire capital complex on Monday.
