Colourful rally on Sankardev birth anniv

A rally was organised on the occasion of 567 birth anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sangkardev in Kokrajhar town today, was organised by Kokrajhar Sangkardev Namghar.

Devotees from various parts of the district thronged and pay their devotions on the occasion. The rally was started from Namghar via railway station and proceeded to RNB road and concluded at the same point. 

The occasion was organised to mark the birth anniversary of the Sangkardev, who had contributed his whole life towards social change and integrated society thorough his Vaisnavate religion in the Assam.

Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning.
