Nazrul’s effigy burnt in Ledo

Many organizations in Margherita burnt the effigy of food and civil supply minister Dr Nazrul Islam alleging his failure to rein in the hoarders and black marketers which is why, the price level has been going up. They further staged protest in front of the Ledo College Tiniali on Monday.

The organizations blamed a section of the corrupt officers in the heavily manned department who have been aiding and abetting the dishonest hoarders and black marketers. Despite allegations, no enquiry has been ordered so far against the illegal traders.   

AJYCP, Margherita Samabhai Samity,Ledo Sambhai Samity and Tirap Samabhai Samity were prominent among the organizations who participated in the protest.
