Preparations are complete to kick off the Thansen Wangchadong Memorial Football Tournament at Nehru stadium in Khonsa on Saturday. Top officials including SP, DC circle officer took stock of the preparations at a recent meeting with the organizing committee members.
Organizing secretary Noah Mongku apprised the meeting of the preparations for the first major football tournament and asked for their logistic support. DC, SP and the Assam Rifles officials assured them all possible help to conduct the football tournament.
The winners of the trophy will get Rs. 50,000 while the runners-up will receive Rs. 25,000 in cash. Around 18 to 20 teams from the district are expected to participate in the tournament.
