Curious UFO in sky!

An unidentified object hovering around the sky in upper Assam pulled no less spell of curiosity among lakhs of people on Wednesday evening.

Much to the utter surprise and curiosity, the comet like object was spotted in the sky in and around the Naharkatiya area at around 9 in the evening forcing the people to come out of their homes to watch the strange objects. But there was no conclusion even from the experts.

The same object struck the heavy attention of the people in Dibrugarh district on Tuesday night.

 

Meanwhile, ISRO officials in Shillong told Assam Times that they were not aware of such objects in the sky. But they said if it is spotted it might be drones.

whether ISRO or NASA they will never confess that ufos are of extraterrestrial origin...i have witnessed an ufo from the front yard of my house in jorhat,assam, india on 23rd june 2015...the ufo hovered for about 40mins and finally shot off at lightning speed into the night sky..it can travel at the blink of an eye and i dont think that a drone has that technology...if drones can accelerate at lightning speed then we sud able to go for interstellar travel sitting in a drone itself..whatever i saw was nothing made on earth..nothing made om earth has technology to accelerate away and shot off at the speed of lightning

Yes. I live in dibrugarh 2days after this event i saw a ufo around 8pm while i was talking to my friend on phone suddenly i heard a loud noise and the phone's signal was lost.my frined too heard ths noise. I looked up and i saw a big ufo with purple light hovering on top of me. I quickly went inside and called my mom and sister. When they came it went away in a lighting size and became like a star but was moving very fast. My friend also saw the ufo

Golden voice echoes in Delhi

The golden voice of Assam mesmerized lakhs of people in New Delhi when Assam displayed its tableaux at the Republic Day function on Sunday.As soon as the tableaux was displayed with Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s Bristirna Parore Okahankhya Janatar….lakhs of people listened to the epoch making song and responded with a big hand. Police commissioner for Guwahati

After years of will-it-won’t-it, the Assam government is all set to appoint police commissioner for Guwahati.The announcement echoes from Governor JB Patnaik’s speech after unfurling the national flag at the Veterinary Playground in Khanapara.Patnaik said that the commissionerate would be set up soon to firmly deal with the rising crime graph in the city.The government assured the Guwahatians of the police commissionerate in the wake of the 2007 serial blast. But the process got delayed.Chief minister Tarun Gogoi a few months back said that the police commissioner would be appointed after the Republic Day.

Patnaik’s clarion call

Governor JB Patnaik urged the militant groups to join the national mainstream to help the state develop.Unfurling the tricolor at the Veterinary Playground in Khanapara on Sunday morning, the governor said that the peace initiatives by a section of militants and the government have started paying dividends. He urged the remaining militants to come forward for talks.

Militant diktat defied

Defying diktat by ULFA-I, NDFB-S and KLO, Assam joins Republic Day celebrations on Sunday pledging to remain united democratic country.Governor JB Patnaik unfurled the national tricolor before taking the salute of the march past by army, police para military forces, NCC scouts and guides at the Veterinary Playground in Khanapara in the morning. Tribute to martyrs

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi paid glorious tribute to the martyrs at the Shradhanjali Kanon on the occasion of the Republic Day on Sunday.Gogoi arrived in the park at 8 in the morning and laid floral wreath in the memory of the martyrs at a brief function attended by senior officials. Then he left for Khanapara to attend the central function.

Dreaded ULFA man surrenders

Much to a major relief, a hardcore ULFA militant has surrendered before Guwahati city police a day before the Republic Day on Saturday.Identified as Gautom Nath alias Chetia surrendered before senior police superintendent Anand Praksh Tiwary in the evening. Gautom said that he found it quite difficult to continue it and decided to come back to the national mainstream.   The close associate of Drishtri Rajkhowa who heads the crack unit (Battalion No 27)) joined ULFA in 2007. He hails from Sonitpur district. He underwent training in Myanmar apart from his visit to ULFA’s camp in Meghalaya.

3 gets Padma Awards

Three distinguish personalities have been selected for Padma awards while two senior police officers would be honoured with President’s police medals.Padma Bibhushan award goes to veteran singer Parbin Sultana while Dr Mukul Goswami and Dr Sarbeswar Saharia have been selected for Padma Shri awards. Massive security for R-Day

A massive security arrangement is in place across the state to foil ULFA’s R-Day diktat on Sunday.Security forces are fanning in the nook and corner of the state to thwart any attempt to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations. JFA to observe R-Day

Braving ULFA diktat, the Journalists’ Forum Assam is all set to celebrate the 65th Republic Day on Sunday.The journalists body is scheduled to observe the red letter day with flag hoisting at the Guwahati Press Club in the morning. JFA said that the people should celebrate both R-Day to pay homage to the martyrs.Notably, a dozen of militant outfits operating in the north east imposed a general strike in the entire region on Sunday. 

Gang of thieves captured

Guwahati police busted a gang of thieves during an intensified operation in the city on Saturday.The operation was launched in the Bhutnath area where 11 thieves were captured and some stolen materials including a bike were seized from their possession. Their personal identity is said to be doubtful.Sources told Assam Times that more operation would be carried out in some selected pockets in the city.
