Nagaland governor PBAcharya appealed to the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA) agitating teachers to withdraw their strike for the benefits of the students.
He said the strike greatly affects less fortunate and weaker section of the society and it also deny the right to education to the children of the schools.
Acharya further directed the government to address the grievances of the teachers expeditiously by releasing their pending salaries so that they can perform their duties without further delay.
The aggrieved teachers, under the umbrella of Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association 2013 (NRMSA 2013), launched their agitation from August 21 last by boycotting classes in their respective schools.

Over 20 people have been injured when a passenger bus slipped into deep gorge in near Guwahati on Saturday.The accident took place at around 2-30 in the afternoon when the passenger bus was on its way to Kamakhya and suddenly it lost control and fell on a gorge where several people were rescued by police and local residents.
Governor J B Patnaik said that the government's counter insurgency operations have fetched dividends where the republic day boycott call was defied. Normal situation prevailed on Republic Day on Saturday. Trains and air services operated as usual though long distance and city private buses kept off the roads as the transport operators gave holiday to their staff on account of R-Day. National flags were seen fluttering in banks, educational institutions, etc., remained closed. Buses, private taxis and autorickshaws of state-run Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) plied as usual. Defying militant diktat, Republic Day was celebrated across the stat with much fanfare and cultural extravaganza. A powerful Improvised Explosive Devices was recovered ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in Darrang district on Thursday.The bomb was found near the Mangaldoi police station and Republic Day parade ground in the morning.
