Protest misdirected: VK Singh

Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh strongly criticized the stiff protest against the move to regularize the non-Muslim Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigrants.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Wednesday, he called the protest a total misconception. He said that the concept is not meant one particular state.

The Union minister faced these questions a week after over a dozen organisations, including AASU and AJYCP, have hit the roads with a series of protests against the Centre's decision.
