12 hour bandh peaceful in Nagaon
The 12 hour Assam bandh called by AJYCP on Saturday in protest against the Central government's decision to grant entry and stay rights to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan, passed off peacefully in Nagaon and the neighbouring places. Though the government offices, schools and colleges remained open but no attendence was seen. The business establishments were seen closed and no vehicles were seen plying on the NH 37 here. The normal life was completely paralyzed. The movement of trains via Chaparmukh to other places was as usual at Chaparmukh junction.

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens.
