Drug peddlers held in Changlang

Despite strict vigilance, drug menace is still prevalent in many parts of Arunachal Pradesh.  Police arrested two drug peddlers at Nampahi-II village in Changlang district on Monday. 

Acting on a tip off, a police team along with members of Women Welfare Association in Miao held a 20 year old girl along with her company 19 years old and seized 10 gm contraband brown sugar from their possession. Police registered a criminal case under NDPS Act against the duo.

Arunachal Pradesh governor JP Rajkhowa and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has conveyed greetings to the people on the occasion of Pham-Kho-Sowai, a popular festival of the Bugun Community of West Kameng District. The public health engineering & water supply department is bracing up for a grim financial crisis. An astronomical amount of money has yet to be realized from the central and state government offices in the division. The department has missed the revenue target because of the unrealized amount.The entire situation has forced the deputy commissioner to step in. Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak has asked all departments to clear the pending bills to avoid penalty charges.
