Teachers recalled Dr Radhakrishanan
Teachers community in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration remembered contribution towards development of the country and paid rich floral tribute to former President of India, Bharat Ratna and educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishanan on his 54th birth anniversary as Teachers' Day on Saturday at Basic Training Centre auditorium hall in Kokrajhar.
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary grace as chief guest on the occasion, was organised by BTC education department.
Borogoyary said that Dr Radhakrishanan was a leader of versatile on the field of Indian development in his age and had vast knowledge of education. The teachers in BTAD region should step to follow ideology and philosophical contribution towards Indian education as well social upliftment across the country, Borgoyary added.
A total of 147 retired teachers were felicitated,13 good teachers awarded the best teacher in the district of Kokrajhar, who had dedicated their teachings in their teaching life.
Good teachers each of was awarded cash 5,000; citation and bunch of gifts to mark the occasion.
Among others, former Assam minister and MLA Pramika Rani Brahma,BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Rajib Brahma, Madhav Prasad Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar were present on the occasion.
