No change in flood scene

The overall flood scene remains totally ravaging on Saturday. The Brahmaputra and its tributaries are swelling because of heavy rains in the catchment areas of Arunachal Pradesh. The surging waters have submerged more and more areas during that last 24 hours displacing over 13 lakh people in 19 districts.

The situation in Dibrugarh district remains unchanged where the current wave has claimed 6 lives. Surging waters washed away a minor boy in Maijan beel area on Friday morning. All vital roads and bridges have come under the flood waters.

Same scene prevails in Dhemaji where over 3 lakh people have been reeling under flood waters. There is no immediate of any let-up in the situation if the rains refuse to stop.

Other worst-hit districts include Sonitpur, Kokrajhar, Svasagar, Glaghat, Nagaon, Morigaon, Goalpara and Barpeta where flood waters continue to wreak havoc.
