Congress is preparing to form the Tiwa Autonomous Council a week after the ruling party’s victory in 15 out of 31 seats in the polls.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday night discussed the council formation with senior cabinet colleagues and leaders. He suggested the party leaders to expedite the process to form the Tiwa autonomous body covering Nagaon and Morigaon districts.
Ministers Rockybul Hussain, Chandan Sarkar, Rekibuddin Ahmed, Ajit Singh Sarat Borkotoky, Dr Bhumidhar Barman attended the meeting along with MLAs Amiya Gogoi, Habul Chakrabarty and others.
Assam Minister for Forest and EnvironmentPramila Rani Brahma has vowed that illegal encroachment along the forest across the state would be checked and measures be taken to the greater interest to protect forest and wildlife.
Brahma reached today around 11.30 am in Kokrajhar at her constituency after taking oath as Cabinet Minister where party leader,member and welwishers accorded warm welcome her at BPF party office and at her residence at Bagansali along the RNB Road. Brahma’s house was decorated with beautiful colouring of flower, and fire crackers were also bursted on the arrival of minister. Brahma reaching her residence offered prayer to the almighty god besides offereing homage to her husband late Nani Gopal Brahma in front of her home. Government officials from Forest and Soil conservation departments also felicitated minister with traditional Aronai,Gamocha,boquet,flower in a merry making moment where a band party displayed their welcome band to the minister’s arrival.She said that she would stress to the safe and protection of natural beauty of the Forest and famous one-horned rhino would be protected at any cost. She said that illegal encroachment along the forest area in the state would be checked and strong measures will be initiated to the greater interest of the state.
Pramila Rani Brahma,Assam Forest Minister said that protection of forest and rhino is the prime priority of her ministry and illegal encroachment in the forest land would checked, no compromise during her tenure.
“I am very concern about deforestation in the state, I have a dreamt to protect forest,wildlife and rhino because Assam state has been regarded very much famous for rhino across the world. We must safe beautiful forest and rare one-horned rhino at any cost. I will coordinate with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while taking measures towards protection and safeguard of the natural resources to gain state’s integration in days to coming”, she said.
A summertime youth seminar was held at Don Bosco school, Tangla from July 12 to 15 on the focal theme “Let us be the agents of change”.The seminar was organized by Father Peter PA, Principal, Don Bosco school Tangla. Students from villages and mostly from tea garden area attended the seminar where they were taught how to be a good and successful person in life. Several distinguished persons namely -Fr. Santosh Minj, Fr. Zaferinus Bakla, Fr. Paneracious Soren and Sister Jaeinta attended the seminar as the resource persons on all the four days. Eloi Bakhla, a NASA trained junior scientist of ISRO attended the seminar as special guest on July 13 to much delight of the students and teachers. While interacting with the students Eloi Bakhla requested students to remember first five letters of English alphabet ABCDE to achieve goals in life. According to him A stands for aim,B for base,C for confidence. D for discipline and E for efforts. He He also remarked that students coming from very poor families could do well in life as they had nothing to lose in their struggle while students coming from rich families never worked hard to achieve goals in life.
It needs mention that Eloi Bakhla has been a top young scientist of ISRO. He has been given responsibility for the design of India's dream project Chandrayan-2 . Coming from a very poor family of Jharkhand, Eloi had to struggle very hard in childhood when he lost his parents. But he was determined to do something real in life and showed his ability by scoring highest marks in the NTSE examination. He secured second rank in the national level science exhibition. After completion of B.Tech from ISRO.He joined Aero-Space Division of ISRO. Presently he has been working with India-Russian combined project Chandrayan 2.Talking to this correspondent,Eloi Bakhla said that there would be two robots in the mission,one would be build by India while the other by Russia.
