Flood situation turns critical in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts on Sunday following the incessant rains in Arunachal Pradesh during the last two days.
All rivers are flowing above the danger level suggesting yet another disaster if the rains refuse to halt during the next 24 hours. The current flood wave has already submerged over 300 villages rendering thousands of people homeless.
On the other hand, flood waters start wreaking havoc in the entire Dhemaji town. Even the SP and DC offices, headquarter police station and circuit house have come under the flood waters on Saturday night. The Deputy Commissioner has shifted to a tourism department guesthouse on Saturday after his official residence came unde the surging waters.
