Himanta’s resignation drama!

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma embroils in yet another controversy after he made public his move to join BJP.  Highly placed sources told Assam Times that AICC has yet to receive any letter from the former minister.

On the other hand, APCC has confirmed that Dr Sarma has not formally resigned from the party before he met BJP president Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday.

This has forced the party to suspend Dr Sarma from the party’s primary membership on Tuesday. APCC president Anjan Dutta served Dr Sarma a showcase notice asking him to clarify why he should be spared.
