Workers of the Bihubar Tea Garden under Sapekhati Mouza in Charaideo district staged a two-hour protest today, demanding urgent improvement of medical facilities in the estate. The agitation, spearheaded by the Assam Tea Tribes Students' Association (ATTSA), Sapekhati branch, highlighted issues such as lack of a permanent doctor, absence of ambulance services, and shortage of essential medicines.
Led by ATTSA leaders, workers raised slogans pressing for the appointment of doctors and GNM nurses, provision of medicines, creation of employment for educated unemployed youth, and proper ambulance facilities for emergency cases.
