Hepatitis dose for Dimapur scribes

Dimapur Press Club (DPC) in association with the Guwahati based Dispur Hospitals has organized another Hepatitis-B vaccination camp for the scribes who had taken the first dose of vaccine on July 21 last at the Press Point, Dimapur. The second (and final) dose of Hepatitis-B vaccination will be administrated on Friday (August 21) at the same venue, which is mandatory to complete the vaccination process. Led by DPC president Moa Longkumer, secretary Pandi Renta and treasurer Dilip Sharma, the first vaccination camp covered more than 30 Dimapur based journalists and some officials from Dimapur district public relation office of Nagaland.

Before the camp, Tir Yimyim editor Temjen expressed gratitude to the medical team arriving from Guwahati for their kind gesture towards the fourth estate of democracy, which he described as the most important segment in the society. He also congratulated DPC for organizing such noble programme for the welfare of its members.

The United Liberation Front of Assam (I) handed down the death penalty to two of its cadres for their alleged involvement with espionage. In a press communique, the outlawed outfit said that its two cadres, Sanjiv Sarma and Dhanjit Das, were found to be involved in espionage. Guwahati: The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I) has alleged a nefarious conspiracy by police and the army to crush their spine, engaging a section of youths who were dispatched to the jungles to join the rebel outfit. In a statement sent to media,  the proscribed outfit claimed to have caught the conspiracy as they grilled a youth from Baihata Chariali in Kamrup who recently joined the outfit.  They have published a list of youths who were trained to target the outfit.. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has refuted reports that some more leaders would soon desert the party. According to some reports, among others,  former minister and MP Prodyut Bordoloi, former minister and MLA Rockeybool Hussain, and former minister Bismita Gogoi would quit the party at any time.
