Defying an inclement weather more than 2 lakh voters in Nagaon and Morigaon are exercising their franchise to decide on the fate of 119 candidates who are contesting in the Tiwa autonomous council polls on Wednesday.
The voting began at 8 in the morning at 195 booths covering 19 constituencies in Morigaon district. The turn out is not up to the mark because of the incessant rains that lashed the district from Tuesday midnight.
The picture is not different in Nagaon district where voting is underway at 91 booths covering 12 constituencies. Polling authorities said that the turn out would improve following a let-up in the weather condition.
