Varsity teachers on strike

Bodoland University teachers on Friday staged strike in front of the varsity campus demanding an early panel to review their pay packages.

Shouting slogans, the protesting teachers further demand a body to redress their grievances and measures to stop commercialization of higher education. They further were dead opposed to the pension schemes 2004.

The teachers from Bodoland University and several colleges supported the All India Federation of University and College Teachers Association ( AIFUCTO)sponsored dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning.
