Varsity teachers on strike
Bodoland University teachers on Friday staged strike in front of the varsity campus demanding an early panel to review their pay packages.
Shouting slogans, the protesting teachers further demand a body to redress their grievances and measures to stop commercialization of higher education. They further were dead opposed to the pension schemes 2004.
The teachers from Bodoland University and several colleges supported the All India Federation of University and College Teachers Association ( AIFUCTO)sponsored dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

A woman committed suicide by lying before a moving train in Kokrajhar on Thursday.Identified as Jaya Saki, the 40 year old woman committed suicide on the rail track near the Gauranga bridge in the afternoon.
