Pall of gloom

A pall of descends across the state following the sudden demise of Prof APJ Abdul Kalam on Tuesday.

People of all walks of life deeply mourned the death of the former President who was on a visit to Shillong on Tuesday. 

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi led the state paying last respect to the renowned scientist on Tuesday. 

Accompanied by his senior cabinet colleagues, Gogoi laid floral wreath at the lifeless Kalam and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Many parties and organizations also condoled his death and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Congress, BJP, AGP, CPI, CPM also condoled the sudden demise of Dr Kalam calling it an irreparable loss to the nation.
