Rail blockade in Raha

Movement of all trains came to a grinding halt on Thursday when local residents in large number blocked the rails in Raha demanding the proposed AIIMS in central part of the state.

Raising slogans demanding an immediate shift in the AIIMS venue, the protesters squatted on the rail tracks at 8 in the morning forcing several trains to stop for three hours.

Later the blockade was called off with an warning that it would resume if the demand fails to reach the authorities.

Raha : The overall flood situation in Nagaon district remained grave for the second day today as incessent rain has been keeping all the rivers of Nagaon district constantly in spate. Kampur-Nagaon ASTC service flagged off

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens. States first record room to be set up in Nagaon

Raha: The State Forest Minister Rokibull Hussain has at last shown interest to set up the state's first Record Room in Nagaon where all officials and non-officials records of Nagaon district will be preserved in a scientific way.
