Its high time for the Supreme Court to simplify the process to update the NRC to ensure that the genuine citizines can smoothly participate in the process. This was more or less of what experts said at a meeting in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Speakers at a meeting organized at the Institute of Social Change and Regional Development (ISCARD) in the city said that the Dispur’s process would disappoint the entire purpose of the exercise if the common people are allowed to face so harassment.
The mneeting suggested that the names of all residents of the pre-1971 villages, towns should be included without any documents.
