The functionings in Kokrajhar DRDA office came to a standstill on Wednesday when the employees staged dharna raising a set of demands.
At around 10 in the morning all employees thronged in front of the office and started staging dharna demanding steps to bring them under Panchayat & Rural development department with pensionary benefits.
They further demanded immediate release of monthly salary with arrears. The non cooperation will continue for the next seven days if the authorities fail give in.
Talking to Assam Times the employees called it a government conspiracy to deprive them of the due benefits.
They alleged that they have not received monthly salary.
The campaigning for the candidates from political parties and independents for No. 5 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency in the third phase in the state which is scheduled on April 24 is concluded by 5 pm on Tuesday evening.Kokrajhar is all set to conduct the parliamentary election scheduled on April 24 and preparations has so far completed.BPF President and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary attended his last campaign meeting for party candidate Chandan Brahma at Subashpolli Ward No.3 in Kokrajhar.
