DRDA non cooperation

The functionings in Kokrajhar DRDA office came to a standstill on Wednesday when the employees staged dharna raising a set of demands.
At around 10 in the morning all employees thronged in front of the office and started staging dharna demanding steps to bring them under Panchayat & Rural development department with pensionary benefits.
They further demanded immediate release of monthly salary with arrears. The non cooperation will continue for the next seven days if the authorities fail give in.
Talking to Assam Times the employees called it a government conspiracy to deprive them of the due benefits.
They alleged that they have not received monthly salary.

Suspected NDFB-S militants killed to milkmen in Kokrajhar district a day before the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Thursday.The incident took place at 11 in the morning at Bhogjhora area near Kazigaon where the motorcycle born militants shot dead Sahadut Ali and Mizanur Rahman from a close range on the road.The milkmen duo who were distributing milk died on the spot.
