Green Valley beat Athletic Club

Green Valley Football Club, Guwahati defeated Barhoongkha Athletic Club, Kokrajhar 3-2 to storm into the final of the Assam State Premier League.

In the second leg of the semi-finals today played at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) stadium in Kokrajhar, the Green Valley beat Barhoongka by  3-2 goals.

Michael Lucky of Green Valley scored the first goal in the 12 minutes to give 1-0 lead to the team. George Prince scored the second goal for the team in the 19 minutes to consolidated the score 2-0 lead.

Their happiness was however short live as Ashok Brahma of Barhoongkha scored the first goal in the 39 minutes. Six minutes later in 45 minutes, M Suroj Singh scored the second goals for Baarhoongkha to equalised the score 2-2.

In the second half, Gaiham Rongmai scored the third goal for the Green Valley in 49 minutes to win 3-2.

Samson Basumatary of Green Valley was given red card in the second half of the match after being shown two yellow cards for foul play.

The Green Valley will now play Morning Star FC, Karbi Anglong in the finals on 25 July.

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
