Let-up in flood fury

 There is let up in the state’s overall flood scene. The water levels of the river Brahmaputra and its tributaries started receding from last night giving some sort of relief to over 13 lakh affected people in 4 districts.

 

Only in Sonitpur and Tinsukia districts more than 400 people took shelter in relief camps.Many parts of Baksa, Dibrugarh and Kamrup districts came under the surging under waters in Barpeta, Sonitpur, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur Tinsukia, Darrang, Nalbari, Golapara, Jorhat and Kamrup (Metro).
