SC breather for Dr Swamy

After weeks of will-it-won’t it, the Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the criminal proceedings against Subramanian Swamy who was to pay heavy price for his hate speech in Karimganj.

The BJP ideologue is likely to move the Karimganj court seeking the complaint to be quashed at any moment from now.

The Karimganj lower court last month issued non bailable arrest warrant against Dr Swamy for his hate speech forcing him to move the top court seeking stay of criminal procedure.

A bench comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice M Y Eqbal, on Thursday is learnt to have stayed criminal proceedings against BJP leader Subramanian Swamy who challenged the hate speech law.
