Bandh violence costs OC job

The simmering orgy of violence that marred the 24 hour central Assam bandh costs the job of a senior police officer in Kamrup district on Thursday.

The government has suspended the Sonapur police station officer in charge for failing to firmly deal with the situation where the bandh supporters damaged several vehicles on the road during the last 24 hours.

According to information, Sonapur police station officer in charge Sanjeev Das has received his suspension order from the authorities for allowing the orgy of untoward incidents to go unchecked.

Notably, a section of the bandh supporters unleashed a reign of terror by damaging dozens of vehicles on the road.
