ABSU warns indefinite hunger strike
The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has warned for indefinite hunger strike if state and centre govt fail to distribute NRC form in Bodo language within June.
The students union staged two-hours sit in demonstration demanding NRC form in Bodo language in front of DC office beginning from 11 am today in Kokrajhar.
The demonstrators shouted slogans with banner, play cards demanding justice with distributing NRC form in Bodo language and justice of constitutional rights to the Bodo peoples.
The students union submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh through Kokrajhar deputy commissioner demnading early issue of NRC forms in Bodo language and extens helping hand to fill up in bOdo language.
Participating the demonstration, Lawrence Islary, general secretary of the students union slammed the state and centre for not initiating any step to distribute NRC forms in Bodo language as Bodo is one of the eight scheduled recognised language in the country.
He has alleged that government has been discriminating Bodos while giving recognizing of constitutional status in the fill up of NRC forms.
He told that the students union will organise indefinite hunger strike demanding of NRC form in Bodo language from first week of July next in protest against motherly step attitudes to the Bodo language in the state..
