Anandita, Nitul top HS science, Mukul and Nikita did it in arts, commerce

Anandita Bora of Dibrugarh Salt Brook Academy and Nitul Khataniar of Cotton College have jointly toppped the Higher Secondary examination in science while the same position in arts and commerce streams have gone respectively to Mukul Haloi from Nalbari and Nikita Jabak in the results announced here on Wednesday.

The percentage of successful candidates, highest in the last ten years, in science is 80.73, in arts is 65.33 while 69.96 candidates have come out successful in the commerce streams. Out of 15,093 candidates in science, 4629 ranked in first division and 6368 in second division. In arts stream the number of candidates appeared is 1,37,270 and the number of first division candidates is 5,882. Altogether 21,397candidates have been placed in second division. Out of 10,429 candidates appeared in commerce stream with 1,142 in first division 3774 in second division.

UPDATE:

This year's top position in science is jointly secured by Anandita Borah of Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh and Nitul Kahtaniar of Cotton College. Cotton College candidate Sudipta Dipak Baruah has been placed in the second top ten position while Gauranga Dutta of Cotton College, Arpita Gang of Karimganj College and Dipankar Mahatto have secured the third position. The Fourth one is being secured by Samarjeet Sarma of Cotton College. The fifth of the top ten position has gone jointly to Abdul Aziz of Salt Brook Academy in Dibrugargh and Kangkon Kalita of Cotton College.
Rajlashmi Duta of DR College, Golaghat and Jahidul Islam Sarkar have been placed in Sixth and Seventh position respectively. Biswajit Sarkar of Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh has secured Eight position along with Ankita Bihani of Pragjyotika Junior College of Titabor and Nabankur Barman of Cotton College. The nineth position is being secured by another cottonian Bhaolina Bora. The Tenth position goes to Sandipan Saha of B H College, barpeta, Saugat Dasgupta, Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Cachar, Nilomoni Bora from Cotton College and Darshana Borah from the same college.

On the other hand, altogether nine candidates have secured the top five positions in commerce stream. Notably, five of them are from Gauhati Commerce College. Nikita Jhabak emerges the first one while the second position is jointly occupied by Dharendar Dugur and Suruchi Jain, all are from Gauhati Commerce College. Pooja Jain from Darrang College ranks third while Priyanka Mour from Gauhati Commerce College and Sunaina Jain from K C Das Commerce college, Guwahati have jointly secured the fourth position. Akshita Jajodia of Gauhati Commerce College has secured fifth position along with Monti Agarwal from KC das Commerce College and Swati Ajitsaria from Nagaon College.

Meanwhile, in arts stream the first of the top ten positions goes to Mukul Haloi, an institutional private candidate of Nalbari. He is followed by another institutional private candidate Kranti Baruah of Bajali in Barpeta district. Third one have jointly gone to institutional private candidate Pallavi Knowar of Nagaon and Samiran Saikia of JB College, Jorhat. Another institutional private candidate from Bajali, Archana Deka, Imran begum from Kolongpar Vidyapith Junior College, Nagaon and Runamoni Kalita from the same junior college have secured fourth position.
Sameem Sakhtara, an institutional private candidatefrom mangaldoi in Darrang has secured fifth position along with Jugamitra Das from Cotton College and Junmoni Phukan from Krihsnaguru Mahavidyalaya in Nalbari. Sixth of the top ten position has gone jointly to an institutional private candidate Happy Saha of Tangla in Darrang district and Siddhartha Phukan from S K Hazarika Junior College, Guwahati. Two institutional private candidates from the same establishment of Bajali in Barpeta namely Dulu Moni Talukdar and Hemanga Barman have secured the Seventh position. Devaroopa Sharma of Cotton College has secured the Eighth position. The Nineth position is being secured by Madhusudan Borpatra Gohain of Kamargaon College in Golaghat, Aifa Tabassuum from Ascent Academy Junior College, Guwahati and Pankita Borgohain, an institutional private candidate in North Lakhimpur. Smita Bharali an institutional private candidate in Mangaldoi in Darrang gets tenth position along with Adadhana Singha of Sankardev Academy junior college in Guwahati and Manashi Saikia of Kalongpar Vidyapith Junior College Nagaon.

Tinsukia: Army operating in Tinsukia district escaped a major bid when suspected ULFA militants tried to blow up a powerful grenade on a convoy but missed the target narrowly. Army’s 6 Jammu Kashmir Rifle’s troops were on petrol when this incident occurred. Doomdooma : Suspected ULFA militants killed a SULFA man Pranab Moran at Kerani Gaon near Kardoiguri, under Domdooma police station at 9.30 PM on Wednesday according to police sources. A group of two to three youths came to the grocery shop owned by Pranab just as he was about to sleep. The youths knocked on the door and asked for a packet of bread. When he opened the door to give them the packet they fired on him and flew away. Military personal stationed nearby rushed to the spot after they heard firing and brought him to the local hospital. Diphu : Heavily armed militants belonging to Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) and United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), on Wednesday night, gunned down at least 9 persons all Bihari migrant workers in Karbi Anglong. Guwahati : There has been a bomb blast at Hengerabari near Dispur capital complex at 3.25 PM on Wednesday.Police say that three persons have been injured in this blast. The bomb was planted on a Rickshaw when it exploded. Police have rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the Hospital. Police suspects the bomb to be a Programmed Timer Device( PTD).

Lakhipur ( Cachar ) : Suspected Dimasa militants had killed three innocent civilians at Hari Nagar under Lakhipur police station in Cachar district on Tuesday evening. According to the police a group of 12/13 armed youths had entered the Bazaar at about 8.30 PM and opened fire indiscriminately. Three people were killed and several others were injured. Guwahati : Two star boxers of the state Kalpana Choudury and Pranamika Bora had been awarded cash incentive by the central government for their magnificent performance in the international meets.
