Sonia clears Himanta's reinduction

A crucial meeting of Tarun Gogoi and Anjan Dutta with party president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday is believed to have cleared the decks for reinduction of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the cabinet soon. Gandhi agreed that the end of dissidence will help the party unitedly take on BJP in the pre poll landscape.

Top sources told Assam Times that Dr Sarma’s reinduction and poll strategies dominated the crucial round of meeting at Sonia Gandhi’s 10 Janpath residence at 10 in the morning in presence of AICC general secretary Dr CP Joshi.

The finalized note would be forwarded to Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday for final seal of approval. Gogoi is likely to reinduct his former cabinet colleague next week following the recent patch up at the initiative of a senior journalist in Guwahati.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Dutta refused to divulge everything in detail saying that Gandhi was satisfied with the poll preparedness and the end of dissidence within the party.  He virtually did admit the discussion on the pending cabinet expansion.
